Introduction 📖
《The Ship》
The Ship is a multilingual, non-linear, meta-theatrical work, adapted from Stefan Zweig’s novella The Royal Game.
Set during World War II aboard a massive ocean liner sailing from China to the Southern Hemisphere, a mysterious man unexpectedly defeats the reigning world chess champion, Czentovic, during an impromptu match. Yet just as a second game is about to begin, the man collapses.
Who is he? What hidden past does he carry?
As the story unfolds, shattered memories and surreal visions intertwine, revealing a psychological landscape of loneliness, resistance, and survival under totalitarianism.
This is not only a story of personal redemption but also a silent rebellion against violence and authoritarian control.
